Political Science in Central European Countries

Which are the major research areas, most frequently used methodologies, publication records, and general settings of political science in Central Europe? This book gives useful insights into most recent developments in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia. The book follows up previous attempts to analyse developments in political science in Europe since 1989 as they were presented over the last fifteen years. Drawing upon extensive original research, there are two major advantages: first, the book focuses on four different Central European countries, thus allowing much more in-depth research than usual. Second, it elaborates issues that significantly go beyond traditional accounts as it pays serious attention not only to research and teaching elements but discusses also publication performances, international outreach, and societal impacts political science has in the respective countries.
